Field Office for the Haiti Parliamentary Support Project (HPSP)

Established in February 2007, the Port-au-Prince Office is responsible for providing a full-range of in-country support and assistance for the Haiti Parliamentary Support Project which has for objective to contribute to the strengthening of political governance and the promotion of a national dialogue.

The mandate assigned to the field office consists of a number of important aspects such as:

  • Facilitate project delivery and logistical arrangements for in-country activities with the Haitian parliament and other partners;
  • Maintain active and continuous links with Haitian project beneficiaries to assess their needs and provide advice on project implementation;
  • Provide ongoing support to Haitian trainees prior to and after project activities namely through departure briefing, follow-up debrief or ensuring knowledge dissemination;

Monitor the progress of the project by gathering information needed to evaluate achieved project results by conducting regular surveys or interviews with the Haitian beneficiaries.
